If you are on Facebook or Instagram I am sure you will have seen friends posting images with the hashtag #365daysgrateful or #100happydays. These two fantastic projects were created to help people find those little moments of perfection in each day day.
They help to create a new positivity in people and there is research that now shows by finding the positive in each day we can help to retune our brains and become more positive. In the field of positive psychology, gratitude is strongly associated with greater overall happiness. It boasts many benefits including:
- better relationships
- better physical health
- increased happiness
- better coping skills.
People who express gratitude on a daily basis experiences more positive emotion and are better equipped to deal with life's stresses and negative situations.
This being the case I often 'prescribe'my clients a gratitude journal. A notebook where I ask them to write down a minimum of three things that have made them grateful that day. It could be anything from booking a holiday to hearing from a friend, it is not always easy to find something but it does help you to search for the positive each day.
This month I am spreading the Holistic Mama love wider by asking you all to join us for our #JoyfulJune2014 project.
To join in all you need to do is to take a photo each day and share it with us either on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #JoyfulJune2014 and each day we will pick our favourite and share it on our Facebook wall. At the end of the month we will create an album with everyone's moments of Joyfulness.
